COMPOSITION: Each film coated tablet contains:

Glimepiride ……………………………………4 mg

Excipients: Copovidone, Lactose, Microcrystalline cellulose, Colloidal anhydrous silica, Sodium starch glycolate, Magnesium stearate, Opadry white, Red iron oxide, Allura red, purified water.

INDICATIONS:

Treatment of non-insulin dependent diabetes (type 2) when hyperglycemia cannot be controlled with diet only. If sulfonylureas are not effective, other oral drugs or insulin may be used.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

- Dose depends on each subject and on patient’s plasma glucose level.

- Usual dose: 1 - 4 mg; taken once at breakfast.

- Do not exceed 8 mg daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• History of hypersensitivity to glimepiride and other sulfonylureas.
• Insulin dependent diabetes (type 1).
• Diabetic coma or pre-coma.
• Severe kidney or liver failure.
• Pregnant women, lactating women.
• Severe infection, trauma, major surgery.

PRECAUTIONS:

-Diet should be continued when taking glimepiride.

-When using concomitantly with drugs that may increase or decrease plasma glucose level, dose need to be adjusted properly.

-Decrease dose if patient has kidney or liver failure.

PRESENTATION: Blister of 10 film coated tablets, box of 3 blisters.
